Frequently Asked Questions
ARE YOU ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS?
We are taking on new clients for virtual and in-person sessions. Click the booking links on our site to schedule a phone consultation to see if one of our talented clinicians can help you meet your treatment goals.
DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE?
We do not accept insurance, but you may be able to receive reimbursement if your insurance allows you to see out-of-network providers. If you would like to use your insurance to pay for part of your therapy sessions, please contact your provider before our first session. The phone number should be on the back of your card under “behavioral health” or “mental health.” If neither of these categories is listed, call the number for member customer service and ask to speak to someone about your Outpatient Mental Health Benefits. Please contact one of our clinicians for a guide to calling your insurance company.
HOW LONG DOES EACH THERAPY SESSION TAKE?
Individual sessions are 50 minutes; couples and family sessions are 60 minutes. With new clients, sessions are generally scheduled weekly. Some clients prefer to meet more frequently or attend group in conjunction with individual sessions.
WHAT ARE YOUR FEES? DO YOU ACCEPT SLIDING SCALE CLIENTS?
Fees vary by clinician and are reassessed annually.
Amanda Lomanov, PsyD - $250 individual 50-minute session; $275 60-minute couples or family session

Our practice reserves a number of spots for clients in financial need. First sessions are typically full fee and subsequent session fees may be negotiated. Any questions about finances can be answered during your free consultation.
We are now accepting clients to join our waitlist for low fee services with a trainee therapist in August 2025. Sessions will be $85 at full fee and lower fees may be negotiated based on financial need.
HOW DO I KNOW IF YOU ARE THE RIGHT THERAPIST FOR ME?
As with any significant relationship, developing a close bond takes time. We hope that in your free consultation call, you will get a sense of how it feels to work together and whether you can feel comfortable sharing more about yourself. If we feel that what you are needing help with is out of our scope of expertise, we will be happy to point you in the direction of a colleague who may be a better match for you.
WHAT IS A FREE INITIAL PHONE CONSULTATION?
When you schedule your free phone consultation, a member of our team will reach out at your appointment time for a 15-20 minute call to discuss your needs. Typically, we will ask about your past experiences with therapy, what's bringing you in at this time, your goals for treatment, and what you are hoping for in a therapist. We will also answer any questions you may have about the process of working together, fees, and anything else that feels important to you.
CAN I CANCEL AN APPOINTMENT?
If you need to cancel a session, please contact your therapist more than 48 hours before the appointment to avoid being charged the session fee.
